NCSA Open Studio

from 10.00

JOIN US! Open Studio started last year and is back again by student request! We gather together to work on our drawing skills, find what inspires us individually, learn new techniques for giving our visions life. Sometimes we explore where our creativity wants to take us, by experimenting with paint, sculpture, or video. The main goal is to learn through play, put effort into things that are challenging, and grow as a result.

MATERIALS: Students are encouraged to bring or utilize whatever materials or media is available & of interest to them. This year, we aren't in the art room, so we won't have direct access to extra materials.  In the first class, I get to ask the kids what they are interested in doing this semester, and we can make further plans at that point. Until then...

I can teach drawing, painting, and digital art, but I can only provide paper for studying and sketching, pencils, oil pastels, markers, watercolor.

Students are encouraged to bring their own sketchbooks to work from, or special materials they may want to use, and PHOTO REFERENCES THAT THEY LIKE! Assignments from their other art classes are permitted to be worked on in after school time too, and I'm available to help teach and guide when a student feels stuck with their work.
